Fiction and Fairy Lights

About us

Best Bookstore In Town

My name is Kim Nash and I’m the very proud owner of Fiction and Fairy Lights; a cosy book shop in the heart of Cannock Chase which will be opening at the end of January 2026.

I hope you don’t mind me sharing that as a little girl I had three dreams.

The first was to work in book publishing.  The reason for this was because I thought it meant that you got to read great books all day long and for an avid reader like myself, that would have been divine. For the last thirteen years, I have been lucky to work in the wonderful world of book publishing, however I can declare that I haven’t spent one day in all of those years, reading books.  It’s been hard work but it’s been the best job I’ve ever had.

The second was to be an author.  I wanted to create worlds like those authors whose books I devoured.  I wanted to evoke effusive emotions within my readers.  I’m delighted to say that to date, I have 11 heartwarming, uplifting, feel-good fiction books published.  Book 12 will be out in Spring 2026 and I’ve just agreed to a further four book contract with my publisher.  The feedback that I’ve had from my readers has blown me away.  You can find out more about my books here: www.kimthebookworm.co.uk.

My third dream was to own a bookshop, and I’m delighted that this dream has also now come true.  In 2022, Press Books and Coffee was born in my local town.  This was a fabulous local independent bookshop which created just what was needed in Hednesford.  I’d always visited the shop when I could, and been lucky to host a number of fabulous events.  I swanned around in the shop and pretended it was mine. (Please don’t judge me!)  When Nancy the owner, decided that it was time to move on to a new chapter of her own, I decided to carry on her legacy, moving into slightly larger premises just down the street and launching under the new name Fiction and Fairy Lights.  I hope you love the name as much as I do.  It was gifted to me by a very good friend and fellow author Emma Robinson.

So please do pop in see us once we open at the end of  January 2026, browse our shelves, and treat yourself to a coffee and a cake.  We can’t wait to welcome you.
